How do I care for my ByTeno and Bobba Beads pieces?

• Keep in a cool, dry place away from humidity.

• Try to protect any jewelry from scratches, sharp blows, harsh chemicals, extreme temperatures and sunlight. As with all jewelry it can be scratched and dented from wear and tear.

• Never wear jewelry while swimming in a swimming pool. The chlorine can cause damage to various metals.

• Avoid contact with water, perfumes, lotions, and anything oil-based as these can tarnish the metal.

• We recommend that you remove jewelry when showering, washing your hands or using sanitizer. Exposure to moisture can cause your beads to lose their luster.

• For Cleaning, mix a few drops of a (colorless, recommended) mild dishwashing detergent or soap with warm water. Rinse your jewelry in the soap solution to loosen the dirt. Immediately use a soft cloth to dry and buff the jewelry. It is best practice to allow your piece to air dry before you resume wear.

Are the beads “real”?

Yes! Unless stated otherwise in the description, we always use natural stones and semi-precious gems that were mined or harvested from the earth before being made into beads for jewelry purposes. No two stones are the same. This makes your piece one of a kind.

Some of our pieces will feature beads made from recycled glass, stainless steel, and metal alloys that are gold-filled or gold-plated, but never plastic.

What is the difference between gold-filled and gold-plated?

Gold-filled jewelry is regulated and legally required to contain 5% solid Gold by weight. Gold-filled looks, wears, and typically lasts a lifetime like solid Gold. It contains roughly 100 times more gold than gold-plated jewelry.

Our gold-filled jewelry is made with high quality 14K or 22K Gold. This ensures your piece will last.

Gold-plating is unregulated. Therefore, all gold-plated items are not created equal.

Our gold-plated items are made with high quality 14K Gold utilizing the modern electroplating process over brass, copper or stainless steel. This ensures that your piece can last for up to two years with proper care.

The beads in the Gold Collection have a titanium/stainless steel alloy base under the gold-plating.

What is 925 Silver?

Ultimately, it's the same thing as sterling silver! Sterling Silver and 925 silver are both made from the same Silver alloy blend, with the only key difference being the name. Sterling Silver consists of 92.5% silver, and the remaining part consists of mostly Copper. This is the reason why Sterling Silver is popularly referred to as 925 Sterling Silver or just 925 Silver.

Silver needs to be combined with other metals because it is very difficult to make great designs with just pure Silver, which is very soft and malleable. A bit of hardness has to be introduced by adding other metals such as Copper, Nickel, or Zinc. That's why jewelers are capable of making the most intricate and complex designs with 925 Sterling Silver.

It is hypoallergenic, high quality, stylish and safe.

How do I care for my 925 Silver?

Keep in a cool, dry place away from humidity.

As rings are regularly worn, they get a natural layer of protection from the natural oils that your hands transfer to them without even trying. That helps prevent tarnish from accumulating.

Not all 925 Silver Rings tarnish, and the process doesn't happen immediately. If you're going to store your ring (unworn) for a while, it's a good idea to seal it in a small Ziploc bag that has had excess air pressed out of it. They have the greatest risk of tarnishing when your 925 Silver rings are sitting unused in your jewelry box for long periods.

The Copper in Sterling Silver makes it somewhat susceptible to tarnishing because that metal additive tends to oxidize easily. Tarnish happens when the metal mixture reacts to Oxygen, creating a darkened, discolored surface. Your experience will depend on your specific ring and the level of humidity that exists in your area. Hot, humid weather can cause Sterling Silver to tarnish more quickly.

Tarnish can easily be removed through cleaning with special polishes and processes.

Is the jewelry handmade?

Yes! Each Bobba Bead bracelet and necklace is made to order by hand. The beads are checked for quality prior to being selected for your piece. Our other designs are sketched by hand and/or produced by our vendors using selected materials according to our specified quality standards.

How does the sizing work for custom bracelets and necklaces?

We offer all Bobba Beads bracelets in adult sizes: 7" (small wrist), 7 1/2" (average / medium wrist) and 7 3/4-8" (large wrist). You don’t have to worry if you are between sizes. Our bracelets use high quality stretch cording that allows them to fit most wrists.

We recommend measuring your wrist or a bracelet you already own to compare sizing. Children should be measured for their bracelets as sizes vary greatly. While all designs are unisex, we find that most men require a 7 1/2" size or larger.

If you need a smaller or larger size than offered, we are happy to make a custom order for you. Make note of your sizing needs in the provided sizing form when you add each item to cart or send us an email with your request. Custom orders may require additional costs.

Necklaces are generally available in 16” with 2 inch extenders on some designs. Beaded necklackes can be ordered according to your preferred length.

I like the design, but I want to change… May I modify my Bobba Beads?

Yes. We want you to enjoy your Bobba Beads. The beauty of handmade jewelry is that it can be customized to your liking.

In addition to custom sizing, we are happy to make modest changes to current designs. You may request a change or removal of charms and spacers. We will do our best to accommodate your requests. You may use the “Order Detail Form” that appears when you add your item(s) to cart to request modifications or list any special instructions.

Some changes may require an additional fee if there is a difference in the cost of materials used. You will always be notified of potential charges prior to order fulfillment.

Can ByTeno designs be modified and/or changed?

All handmade designs can be customized upon request. Please allow 3-7 days for custom orders. If materials need to be ordered, a projected ready date will be provided.

Simple changes such as changing necklace chain styles and lengths can be done on the spot.

What is the return or refund policy?

We have a 100% Satisfaction Guarantee. We take great care to provide you with high quality pieces that exceed your expectations.

If you receive a piece that is damaged or has a defect, we are happy to replace the item(s) if notified within 30 days of receiving your order. If the item is no longer available, we will refund you upon receipt of the damaged pieces.
